Indication of Window Opening

Hi,

I have downloaded the U-lite edition and have a question...

The default arrangement of the 'wings' to indicate the way in which the window opens is the opposite to what we use in the UK. Is there a way of changing this? I need the dotted lines to run from the opening side to the hinges, not the way it works in the program at the moment.

Also, I cannot find a way to add features inside the glass panel, such as beading or lead - can I do this?

what exactly is the use of it ? only for giving quotation and a blinds design ?

Can it give exact amount of Bill of Quantity ? (all the small parts for making vertical blinds) ?

Error installing Ra Workshop at the Database Server step

In the installation of Ra Workshop, an error occurs when you reach the installation of the database server:

This error occurs, in general, when the installation kit or the application tries to connect to a SQL Server and can't. There are several factors that can cause this problem. We will try to describe below all the situations our support department has encountered so far.

[b]1. Serverul de date nu este instalat.[/b]

The installation kit has two files that can trigger the installation: [b]setup.exe[/b] si [b]RaWorkshop.msi[/b]. The installation kit is configured to check if there is a SQL Server installed. If it doesn't exist, it installs it; if it does exist, it skips right to the installation of Ra Workshop. All this proofing is in the setup.exe, which, after all the check-ups, launches RaWorkshop.msi. This last file only contains installation steps for Ra Workshop, without the database server or any other component.

So, if a user launches RaWorkshop.msi directly, instead of setup.exe, the installation of Ra Workshop will automatically start, and, when reaching the step where it tries to connect to the server, the kit will return the message above. [b][i]The solution is to install the application by launching directly the setup.exe file[/i].[/b]

[b]2. The selected server is not the right one.[/b]

There are cases when there are several SQL Servers installed on a computer. By default, the installation kit creates an instance named (local)/SQLExpress and tries to connect to it. Also, there are situations where the database instance has a different name: (local), [ComputerName], etc. [b][i]In these conditions, the solution is to select the right server from the available servers listed by the installation kit.[/i][/b] For example: the kit will try to connect to (local)/SQLExpress by default, but your server actually has the name (local).

There are more situations in which this error occurs but these are the ones reported by Ra Workshop users. Updates on this topic are yet to come if any other situations appear.

MSXML error when installing SQL Server 2005

There are some cases where SQL Server Express 2005 fails to install because the operating system (mostly Windows XP) is not up to date. More accurately, the operating system has a component named MSXML Parser 6.0 installed, that gererates the error and cannot be unistalled.

You can solve the problem by following the next steps:

1. Download [b]Windows Installer Cleanup Utility[/b] from the Microsoft site using the next link: [url]http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301[/url].
2. Delete the installation data about MSXML 6.0 with the help of [b]Windows Installer Cleanup Utility[/b].
3. Install Ra Workshop the usual way.

Compatibility issue - SQL Server 2005 and Windows Vista

SQL Server 2005 has a known compatibility issue with Windows Vista. The problem was partially solved in SQL Server 2005 SP1 and completely solved in SQL Server 2005 SP2. Here is an extract from the Microsoft site:

This problem occurs when users who bought Ra Workshop in 2006 try to install the program from the CD on computers with Windows Vista. Pyramid Software replaced the kit for SQL Server 2005 Express with the one containing SP1 (in November 2006) and the one containing SP2 (in February 2007), thus solving this issue.

We recommend users that encounter difficulties installing the application on Windows Vista to install the latest version: [b]SQL Server 2005 SP3[/b], that can be downloaded from: [url=http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3181842A-4090-4431-ACDD-9A1C832E65A6&displaylang=en]Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3[/url]. This happens when an SQL server 2005 is already installed on that computer.

MS SQL Server 2005 comes with a series of default security settings. By default, the application only allows Windows authentication. Ra Workshop uses the SQL Authentication to connect to the Database Server.

When an SQL server 2005 is already installed on that computer, the Ra Workshop kit moves on with the installation process. It is very likely that the server will only allow Windows Authentication. But the installation kit uses Windows Authentication so it will run with no trouble whatsoever.

[b]There are several solutions for this problem:[/b]

1. [u]The simple method[/u]:

If you know you don't need the SQL Server, you can uninstall it (make sure to check that it uninstalls the instance too - usually it's [i](local)\SQLExpress[/i]). Then you uninstall Ra Workshop. After that, you reinstall Ra Workshop, which, in turn, will reinstall SQL Server with all the necessary settings.

2. [u]The complex method[/u]:

On the CD you received, in the folder [b]Tools\SSMSEE[/b], there is a kit named [b]SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.msi[/b]. You can also download it online: [url]http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c243a5ae-4bd1-4e3d-94b8-5a0f62bf7796&displaylang=en [/url].

Install the Management Studio and start it (START -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> SQL Management Studio). Connect to the server (with Windows authentication), right click on the server (in Object Explorer) and go to Properties.

In the Properties window, go to Security and on the right side check: [b]SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode[/b]. Click OK and restart the SQL service from the menu in Object Explorer.

System reboot while installing SQL Server 2005 SP3

On certain systems, it is possible that your computer reboots during the installation of SQL Server 2005 Express SP3, when you get to the step that starts the services. Afterwards, the computer continues rebooting after the login phase. The problem occurs on computers with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and only for the version of SQL Server 2005 that includes Service Pack 3.

[b]Solution: before installing Ra Workshop 3.1, make sure you install Windows XP Service Pack 3. To check your version of Windows, right-click My Computer (placed on Desktop) and select Properties from the menu. In System, you should see Microsoft Windows XP Professional/Home Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

Download: to update you version of Windows, use the Windows Update feature. If you do not have access to the internet on that computer, you can download [url=http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en]Windows XP Service Pack 3[/url] from the Microsoft site[/b].

To stop the continuous rebooting proceed to do the following:

1. Press F8 immediately after booting.
2. When the Windows menu appears select Safe Mode.
3. After your computer runs in Safe Mode, you have several options to repair the problem:

* ([b]Recommended[/b]). Uninstall SQL Server Express from Add/Remove Programs. Also check the option that removes the SQLExpress instance. After removing SQL restart your computer the usual way.
* Use System Restore to revert to the status before the problem. Go to Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore and select a previous date to go back to the status of the system from that date. After system restore delete the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server and restart your computer the usual way.
* Deactivate the SQL services and restart your computer the usual way. After login uninstall SQL Express 2005. Also check the option that removes the SQLExpress instance.
