The following error occurs when you start the application:

Build: 3.0.3000.30442
Time: 14:37:25
Text: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)
Description: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)

This happens when an SQL server 2005 is already installed on that computer.

MS SQL Server 2005 comes with a series of default security settings. By default, the application only allows Windows authentication. Ra Workshop uses the SQL Authentication to connect to the Database Server.

When an SQL server 2005 is already installed on that computer, the Ra Workshop kit moves on with the installation process. It is very likely that the server will only allow Windows Authentication. But the installation kit uses Windows Authentication so it will run with no trouble whatsoever.

There are several solutions for this problem:

1. The simple method:

If you know you don't need the SQL Server, you can uninstall it (make sure to check that it uninstalls the instance too - usually it's (local)\SQLExpress). Then you uninstall Ra Workshop. After that, you reinstall Ra Workshop, which, in turn, will reinstall SQL Server with all the necessary settings.

2. The complex method:

On the CD you received, in the folder Tools\SSMSEE, there is a kit named SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.msi. You can also download it online: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c243a5ae-4bd1-4e3d-94b8-5a0f62bf7796&displaylang=en .

Install the Management Studio and start it (START -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> SQL Management Studio). Connect to the server (with Windows authentication), right click on the server (in Object Explorer) and go to Properties.

In the Properties window, go to Security and on the right side check: SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode. Click OK and restart the SQL service from the menu in Object Explorer.
